Jeffrey is a New York based actor and graduate of Columbia University's Graduate School of the Arts, Theatre Division (MFA, '05). He was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, and graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. in Biology. His first foray into the theatre was through improvisation in high school and college, where he worked with several improv comedy and longform ensembles. Jeffrey has since taught improv at the Greenville Shakespeare Festival in New Hampshire.
While at Columbia Jeffrey studied under Anne Bogart, Kristen Linklater, Andrei Serban, Niky and Ulla Wolcz, Larry Singer, and Brian Kulick. His recent credits include A Lie of the Mind, Ivanov, Mother Courage, and Crocodile Eyes (dir. Eduardo Machado) at Columbia, as well as Twelfth Night which was performed at international festivals in Germany and Korea. In 2001, he performed in The First Chapter of Peter at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, which garnered his ensemble a Fringe First nomination
and was named a Critic’s Pick by The Scotsman . Jeffrey has also worked with Paul Whitworth and Danny Scheie at Shakespeare Santa Cruz, and has trained with the SITI Company.
As a theatre artist, Jeffrey strives to create actor-driven ensemble work through his New York company Performance Lab 115, which he founded in 2004 with three of his classmates. PL115, now in its second year, has been awarded the coveted 'NY Fringe Overall Excellence Award' for its production of God's Waiting Room in 2005, and has toured internationally to Budapest, Hungary. The ensemble is currently producing a new work for the New York Fringe entitled A Small Hole, by 13P plawright Julia Jarcho.
He is also a founding member of the emergent theatre. In addition to acting, Jeffrey has worked as a director, most recently co-directing Deathwatch at MAP Penthouse. |
